Learner Permit Testing |
|
Why is the permit testing tile in the Work Center YELLOW? Why is there a timer on it? |
|

The reason you see the permit test icon changed to YELLOW (with the remaining time and a link to this FAQ), is because the system recognizes the last time you took the test, you failed with less than the 70% correctly answered questions to pass. The test was scored, the score was a failing score. It is time to wait 24 hours for the next available time to administer it to you.
The main difference between the permit test and any quiz is the fact that the permit test may only be administered to a student once every 24 hours. Quizzes (once available and colored green) can be taken anytime.
NOTE: if you want to repeat a quiz (even after you pass) you can click on the purple quiz icon and take the quiz again. The permit test is not like that. If you pass the permit test, it will turn purple (like the quizzes do when passed) but it will not be clickable to take it again.
General guidelines for the smoothest quiz/test experience:
- Please do not take the quiz/permit test using a mobile browser on a hand-held device.
- It is preferred you use Firefox or Google Chrome on a laptop/desktop computer if at all possible.
- Once you start, click your way to the end answering the questions and clicking FINISH on the final question.
If you follow those guidelines you should have no problems with taking a quiz or the permit test.
If you fail to FINISH the test to the last question to click the FINISH button, even the questions you did not see will be marked as incorrect to contribute to having a lower score. You need to take the test to the end once you start the test.
Please read the note when the quiz/permit test begins to see the guidelines. It goes into more detail.
